PLAYSAFE is a sports mask intended to function as one unit with your football or lacrosse helmet. The mask is made of three layers - the first being 100% organic cotton antimicrobial athletic fabric, one of the only 100% cotton athletic fabrics to exist, a layer of 95% polyester material, and a spacer fabric to trap particles. This mask helps to reduce sweat, prevent the mask from getting sucked into the mouth, enable better breathing as well as better communication on the field. Machine or hand wash in cold water. Hang to dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron.
TransDRY® is a 100% organic cotton athletic material. It is a woven fabric with untreated cotton and TransDRY® Cotton yarns. It allows moisture to be moved to the outside of the fabric. TransDRY® has antimicrobial, UV blocking, and ventilating properties, and dries faster than untreated cotton. It also prevents breakouts and helps to filter particles.
Inner spacer fabric has a complex inner structure enabling it to create an obstacle course to prevent small particles from getting through to the nose and mouth.
Outer 95% polyester fabric is durable and moisture resistant, and also has antimicrobial properties.
FAQS
Does the mask come in different sizes? Currently, there is only one size that is designed to fit athletes high school age and older. The mask is designed to stretch comfortably, enabling it to fit all people within that age range. However, there are plans for a youth size to come soon.
Are there different colors available? Different colors will be available. The inner layer (TransDRY®) and stitching will be tailored to school colors. The outer layer will remain black for uniformity and to prevent distraction.
What is the use for this mask after COVID-19? Post COVID, this mask can help any immunocompromised children who, especially in third world countries, have been hindered from playing sports long before the pandemic because they cannot risk getting sick. Additionally, in many other countries masks have been a part of everyday life for decades before COVID due to poor air quality and other diseases that may be circulating. This mask could also serve as protection for those who may be unable to get the COVID vaccine due to allergies to it’s ingredients.
